DHAKA, Oct. 3 (Xinhua) — The Bangladeshi interim government will hold a dialogue on reforms with the major political parties on Saturday.
Shafiqul Alam, press secretary of the country’s chief adviser, told reporters at a press conference in Dhaka Wednesday that Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus and other advisers will take part in the dialogue.
He said the main objective of the dialogue is to inform the major political parties about progress over the six reform commissions’ work and discuss the law and order situation of the country and seek their suggestions.
In his address to the nation on Sept. 11, Yunus announced the formation of six commissions for reforms in the electoral system, police, judiciary, public administration, constitution and Anti-Corruption Commission. Yunus has already expressed his determination to quickly advance reforms and hold an election thereafter.
Yunus took oath as the head of the country’s interim government here on Aug. 8. ■
